Wow

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Wow... all i can say is i have had the most amazing last few days. Through getting in touch with the Extreme Puzzling Network i found out that the Willen Lake Puzzlers, Milton Keynes, were having an event last weekend, working out amazingly well as this was less then 1/2 an hr from where my new contact Tally lives. So on Friday i took to plunge, got on a train and went to stay with Tally. She is seriously lovely and we had lots in common, it was great to meet her.

So on Saturday the fun began: it was actually a really lovely day, the sun even came out (which was amazing luck as it has been raining the past week). For the minute i can't say much due to the extreme puzzle championships (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-PN_E4G2Uo), for which the nominees are about to be announced any day now (exciting, exciting - i so hope some of the amazing people i meet over the course of the last few days receive nominations). But what i can say was that a great week end and it was so great to meet some like minded people and discover this new world. Its really re-ignited my passion for puzzles for one thing :D - i'll never view a sudoku puzzle in the same light again....

busy, busy, busy

Well the last few days have been very busy indeed. Have been a road trip to Warwick to visit a friend who is also a keen puzzler, she was most intrigued by the whole notion of 'extreme puzzling' - i must remember to link her to the site.

Then i spent yesterday getting ready for the excitement that will be this weekend :D. Having got in touch with eXpn - the Extreme Puzzling Network - they invited me to join them this weekend, so am spending this week-end staying with my new contact, tally, and tomorrow we are going to have an action packed day of 'extreme puzzling', it sounds like it is going to be sooo great :) - i can't wait :D

I'll let you know how it goes....

exploring

Wowness - this extreme puzzling thing looks amazing, i am hoping to make contact with other people in my area as soon as possible, i so want to get involved, i cant believe how much the notion alone has cheered me up :D !

From exploring this 'world' a bit deeper i have found there is such a range of exciting, challenging new activities out there for me to explore: from skydiving sudoku to dirt-bike dominoes, the limit really seems to be peoples creativity, i just *have* to get involved.

As well as all the fun, i want to get involved with the more serious side of the Extreme Puzzling Federation, for example helping to free this man, (http://www.perplexcitysentinel.com/archives/2006/09/guilty_jumper_c.html), Raoul Benton, who has been imprisoned due to people not being to recognise his sheer originality and ingenuity to be at the forefront of extreme puzzling, all i can say is i hope this campaign to free him (which can be found here: http://www.extremepuzzlers.com/free.htm) is successful, and i am fully behind it.

Opps i kinda got busy over the weekend, and forgot to post. Nothing all that interesting, just normal everyday type things. Boring, boring, same old, same old. Didn't have time for much else.

So when i logged on to LJ today and saw tally's (http://tallyblog.livejournal.com/) update from Friday, with THIS link: http://www.extremepuzzlers.com/ it cheered me right up :D. I mean just look at it! How amazing does that seem?!? I must send and email to the editor and see how to get involved. In fact thats what i'm going to go do now - byes xxx

severed

As i have mentioned before i play an ARG called Perplexcity, and today after lots of political manoeuvring over the past week, we had our link with the characters pretty much cut off, over the course of the day we received goodbye messages from the character, and at 5.30 our link was ‘firewalled’ and censored. With how i am feeling about puzzling in general this has really got me down. TIAG-(this is a game)wise this is forcing us to get on and find 'the cube' but meh, *kicks Earlywine* (the character that did this).

Didn't do much today at all really, saw my sisters band play tonight; they were good.

shocked

Wow - tally, whose blog i commented on yesterday actually responded! It makes it just that little bit better theres someone else out there feeling the same ennui (thats my new fav word - thanks tally :) ). I actually solved a few perplexcity cards today (taking me up to 150 solves), but meh... i dont know it just seemed same old same old - weird....

anyways bedtime, goodnight anyone reading this xx

Opps i'm not doing that great at the whole being awake thing this week, i keep waking up in the afternoon I barely made it through my pantomine rehearsal last night, i was so close to sleep!

Anyways just a quick post to say that last night when i got in i thought i'ld see who else LJ's and through searching tags I cam across another persons blog which i really related to (i wont link in case i shouldn't,)but i left a comment and now i am really hoping she replies. Yet i am worrying that i may have overstepped the mark, just randomly posting a comment like that, all i can do is wait and see I guess...

Meh

Okay well ummm, as this is my 2nd day of blogging and all thought i had better write something, but to be honest today i am feeling very very apathetic. I'm not having such a great day health wise and i cant seem to be able to motivate myself into doing much at all. There have been some cool updates in the world of perplexcity, lots of shock waves going through the political world, and I even got a shiny new card in trade today, but i havent even opened up google to try and start solving - so yeah, all in all i feel rather meh.

Hello! this is me

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Okay wow, my 1st blog post. I have been thinking of starting up a blog for a while, but always assumed; who would want to read about my life? it's so boring etc etc. But then today I decided why not? if no one reads it so what? I wrote it, and its out there for anyone remotely interested. And with today being the day this site: http://www.historymatters.org.uk/output/Page1.asp (supported by charities such as the National Trust and English Heritage, want people to blog about, it seemed like the day to start.

So yeah umm, Hello anyone who has stumbled upon this! I'm Izzy, I'm 20 and live in Hertfordshire UK and at the minute am currently recovering from being ill. Which ,by and large, has lead to my interest in puzzles! (they have been keeping me sane). Anything from sudoku to jigsaws to brain training on my DS Lite (its sooo pretty). I particularly enjoy the puzzling-ARG Perplexcity (http://www.perplexcity.com player name: _izzy_). Its basically a big world-wide hunt for 'the cube' but with puzzle cards.

The only problem is recently I have become almost disenchanted with it all, its all great and fun and stuff but I don’t get the same thrill when I put the final piece in the jigsaw or press enter and get the congrats you have solved it screen. I don’t know I just sometimes think there has to be more.....
